Impact on Access to Abchurch Lane

Until late November 2026, Abchurch Lane will remain closed to traffic from King William Street to approximately halfway down the church. From late November 2026 to mid-March 2027, this arrangement will reverse while the southern end of Abchurch Lane is reconstructed. Following Phase 5, the signage at either end of Abchurch Lane will be revised.

Access to 15 Abchurch Lane

Pedestrian access to RPSL will normally be maintained from both ends of Abchurch Lane. Work directly outside RPSL’s front door will, however, be necessary at some point. The exact timing can be agreed with the contractor and communicated to members; the work should last only a day or two.

A major project is currently underway covering King William Street, Lombard Street, Cannon Street and many of the lanes that connect them including Abchurch Lane.
This will mean that there will be road closures due to roadworks. Access during these times will be for pedestrians only, with very limited access to vehicles.
